My Story
I grew up on Pixar, Miyazaki, and Isaac Asimov. Drawn to storytelling, especially through visual mediums, I majored in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts at UC San Diego.
One fateful day, I attended a seminar on Human Factors and learned of the design of everyday things. I switched my major the very next day to Cognitive Science with specialization in Human-Computer Interaction.
I applied to Carnegie Mellon University and lived in Madeira, Portugal working on a dual-degree Masters in Human-Computer Interaction. It was wonderful to fulfill a longtime dream of living in a foreign country and experience how culture affects technology.
I interned at HUGE as a guinea pig in their first ever Huge School and lived in Brooklyn for the summer. My favorite thing about New York is the Highline.
I moved back to the States, starting my career in Silicon Valley with Addepar, a finance wealth management startup.
Then, I joined Google. Over 3 years, I worked on AdWords Display, Alphabet Energy / Project Sunroof, and Android Auto.
I was VP of Design at Hinge Health, working to improve a non-surgical solution to chronic knee and lower back pain. I started as the only designer to growing the design team to 3, and helped grow the company overall from 13 people to 100.
Now I’m at Verily, working on Baseline, an end-to-end clinical studies platform. Let’s chat.
